At Lees Brook Academy, we believe that Art is a powerful form of communication that enables students to explore, express and understand the world around them. Our curriculum is designed to inspire creativity, curiosity and confidence while developing technical skills, critical thinking and cultural awareness.
Through a broad and ambitious programme of study, students engage with a diverse range of artists, cultures, media and artistic movements. They are encouraged to experiment, take creative risks and develop their own artistic voice, fostering resilience and independence throughout the creative process.
Our intent is to ensure that all students:

At Key Stage 4, the GCSE Art curriculum prepares students for further study in Art, Design and Creative Media, while also equipping them with transferable skills highly valued across a wide range of professions, including creativity, critical thinking, communication, self-management and innovation. Students are encouraged to make meaningful connections between their own work and the wider world, fostering curiosity, imagination and cultural awareness. Through regular opportunities to create, evaluate and refine their work, learners develop the confidence to challenge conventions and celebrate individuality.
