The AIM Qualifications provide opportunities for learners to develop their skills and knowledge, to enable them to start or build on a career in a range of health and social care industries.
These qualifications cover different areas of health and social care, including a range of different skills, person centred care, anatomy and physiology, safeguarding, developing communication and teamwork skills, and the principles of working in health and social care to name a few.
Learners will also be able to develop the essential communication, information technology, English and Maths skills they will need to succeed in the industry.
These qualifications have been designed to allow learners to achieve the size and level of qualification most suitable for their needs and relevant to their stage of learning, providing an opportunity to work towards qualifications in small steps.
Level 2/3 Technical Health & Social Care
Level 2
This qualification is for you, if you are 16 years old or over, and want to apply your skills and knowledge in health, social care and childcare. This qualification isn’t only about babies, the elderly and the ill; employers in health and social care require their employees to deal with a range of people, tasks and environments whilst maintaining the safety, security and wellbeing of their service users. Therefore, this qualification will provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress into employment, either through an Apprenticeship or directly into work, apprenticeships that you could progress to following completion of this qualification include Adult Care Worker or Healthcare Support Worker.

Job roles you could progress to include Childcare Assistant, Healthcare Assistant or Adult Care Assistant.
You will learn by applying your skills, knowledge and understanding to tasks or activities that happen in health, social care and childcare environments, and to the people that use the services including individuals who require care and support, their families and advocates, colleagues or members of the general public. We have worked closely with employers who have helped us include the transferable skills, knowledge and understanding that they are looking for in prospective applicants.
Level 3
The Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care has been developed for learners aged 16+, who want to develop and apply their skills, knowledge and understanding in health, social care and child care. This qualification isn’t about teaching learners how to care for babies or the elderly and the ill however; it will provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding that will allow them to progress onto Higher Education on a health and social care-related programme such as Health and Social Care, Nursing, Social Work or Early Childhood Studies. Learners will learn by applying their skills, knowledge and understanding to tasks or activities that are relevant to what happens in health, social care and child care workplaces. Having an appreciation of what happens in the workplace will also help to prepare learners for continuing their education in this sector. We have worked with universities and employers who have helped us include the transferable skills, knowledge and understanding that they are looking for in prospective applicants.
