How Do I Apply?
To apply to The Skills Academy, you must first complete the application form that can be found below. Alternatively you can either request one directly from Mrs Rudkin at The Skills Academy or pick one up from Connexions.
On the application form you must complete details of your predicted grades for your GCSEs especially Maths and English and the course you wish to study. We will then request a reference from your current school.
When will I hear about the outcome of my application?
We will write to advise you we have received your application. We will then contact your school and arrange an interview. If successful you will receive an offer by post. Please note that all courses offered are subject to demand.
What happens next?
The final stage of the application process is confirming whether or not you wish to take up a place at The Skills Academy. When you receive your offer letter you will be asked to return an acceptance slip. Once this has been returned you place at The Skills Academy is reserved.
All places will be confirmed in writing, stating the subject of your chosen pathway. The letter will state full details of the Induction programme that will be run on the first week academic year for Year 12 students. The pack will also include information of the bursary, free school meals and other helpful information.
Please send your GCSE exam results to the Skills Academy with your enrolment forms prior to your course start date.
How Do I Apply to Return to Year 13 or 14?
To apply to return to The Skills Academy, please complete the application form that can be found below. Alternatively you can pick up a copy directly from the reception at The Skills Academy.
On the application form you must complete details of your current course and the course you wish to study. Hand your form to the reception at The Skills Academy and we will let you know in writing if you can continue studying with us.
