During December Lees Brook Academy ran our first ever attendance advent! Every student who was in school every day during December had the opportunity to win various prizes including Boots gift sets, McDonalds lunch, A Kindle, a Mountain Bike and an Ipad! Staff throughout the school made advent videos for students to watch every day before announcing who the winners were. There were some great videos made by staff which featured lots of jokes, singing and dancing (as well as the best Scrooge impression from Mr Hollingshurst!), but most importantly, reiterating the importance of attending school every day.

Mr Hunter, Assistant Principal, said “The new attendance initative was a wonderful opportunity to reward students in school every day during December and seeing the looks on the faces of the students who won a prize was fantastic. It is essential that all students are in school every day to ensure that no one misses out on their education”.

A year 8 pupil said “I was excited to go to school in December to see the videos and maybe win a prize. Some of the videos were really funny! I like that you could win an ipad as I don’t have one.”
