Year 9 Dance Performance Group is selected for the County Platform

Buxton Opera House May 17th

Lees Brook Year 9 performance group took part in the Derby City Platform alongside 48 other schools from the Derby City at The Assembly Rooms in April. We are very proud to report that they were selected alongside St Benedict’s Year12 students to represent Derby City at a County platform called Interface10 at Buxton Opera House on Monday 17th May. This is a great honour and signifies the hard work and commitment these students have made.

 As part of the prize the group will be entitled to 20 hours of tuition from professional dance artist Ian Dolan, who has danced with both Transitions and Earthfall Dance Company. He is currently in a piece called Bodies in Space choreographed by Willi Dormer which will soon tour.Ian will work with the students in preparing them for the event and support their continued dance development afterwards.
